Even though he was born on Earth, James Kirk lived for a while on Tarsus IV, where he was one of only nine survivors that witnessed the brutal massacre of around 4.000 colonists by Kodos the Executioner.

Sam, (James’ brother) and his sister-in-law meet with their unfortunate deaths in Operation: Annihilate!,’ leaving behind three kids.

James became the first ever Starfleet Academy student to successfully surpass the Kobayashi Maru test, which netted him a commendation for innovative, original thinking.
