Optimus Prime is one of the most important characters in the massively popular Tranformers saga. He was born on the 8th of May in 1984. Prime is the respected and much-loved leader of the Autobots – a team of heroic transformers that hail from Planet Cybertron.

The Autobots are constantly in battle with the Decepticons (a group of evil forces led by Megatron) for control of their homeland.

Optimus Prime is portrayed as a charismatic, compassionate and courageous Autobot who invests all of his talent and skill into improving the world around him. He possesses a strong sense of justice and equality, and dedicates himself to the protection of all forms of life, particularly human beings. He is also known to battle his enemies with immense bravery and an unyielding resolve.

The original Optimus Prime transforms into a bright red cab over truck.
